"OLD SCHOOL NEW SCHOOL MOM" by Sarah Fader BOOK REVIEW

I laughed, I cried, I got angry, I felt a world of emotions when reading this book. I feel like I already know you Sarah. There were so many times that I felt I could walk a day in your shoes and be right at home. "Old School, New School Mom" is a look into the life of a well-spoken and intelligent writer/mom. As a reader, I was able to easily jump into her "blog" style of writing. I actually have never read anything more real, or so raw. She is the friend who is not afraid to tell you just how things, "are or should be." Everyone would benefit from reading into the everyday life of an "intense" New York woman.

About the book:

Old School New School Mom is a collection of blog post that cover a plethora of topics. Topics such as depression, Anxiety, children, pregnancy and day to day ventures out in the world. I especially, valued the information I read about understanding depression among those who cannot help the way they feel. I found the topic of managing depression to be most helpful in understanding how damaging those that dictate what people with depression should or shouldn't do for treatment, can be.

"Society, let's stop telling people how to manage their mental illness and instead support them on their journeys to find their way." -Sarah Fader

Well said Sarah, I read this line over and over, because it hit home with me. An underlying theme I noticed throughout the book was let your instincts guide you, they are most certainly right a large percentage of the time.
I found her words to be empowering and educational when dealing with understanding how Depression and Anxiety affects different walks of life. Thank you for sharing this rare gem with me Sarah Fader. You are amazing!

Here's a little bit about what's going on in my life right now

Sorry that I haven't  really been blogging about me lately. I'm currently hard at work on my next book in a new series and genre that I'm working on. It's called "White Matron The Spell Caster Trials" and is a fantasy about a young Witch named Fey Westfall, who is destined to be a supreme leader of a town that has been isolated from the rest of the world since the 15th century and has had no contact with evil or dark magic. Or has it? Fey, finds herself the main attraction of the evil that has been trickling into Edelweiss Pines.

I'm excited to start a new chapter in my life as my husband and I may be getting a home very soon. I'll finally have more time to write and do things pertaining to books!

"That's The Way She is" by Archie Lee BOOK REVIEW

I was thoroughly impressed with the writing in this handy little book. I'm not normally one to read a book like this, but I decided to give it a chance, and I'm so glad that I did. I was able to appreciate a fair amount of information researched within its pages and apply what I had learned.

 ABOUT THE BOOK:

I pride myself in knowing a good deal about relationships. Most people think there is nothing wrong with what they have going on in life, pertaining to a loved one, lover, best friend or even their children. Even if you feel you shouldn't change a thing about how you treat them, give this book a shot. It sheds a positive light on the behavioral differences between men and women. Instead of being one-sided, dealing with genders, this book identifies the different sexes angles on various topics. I found several passages to be helpful in my everyday marriage, and I know that my husband would find something of interest from it also. The author breaks down different types of women, how you should approach them, and their behavioral characteristics. Throughout the book, there is one central theme to achieving success with women and it has everything to do with respect as well as communication. Thank you Archie Lee for sharing such good topics and information. I will be using this like the bible in my household from now on!

"Real World Survival" Preparing for and Surviving Disasters by: Richard G Lowe Jr. BOOK REVIEW

Being something of a survivalist myself, I found the information in this book to be a must have. The thing I liked most, was the fact that I could think of any situation that popped into my head, and it could be found addressed in the index of this book. It was very informative.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

My initial inkling of this "How to book" was that it would cover your basic natural disasters. Boy was  I completely wrong. It actually covers Chemical spills, Nuclear Disasters and even Rioting and Looting situations. To me, these points hit home with real modern day issues. I enjoyed how the author wrote a story about his experience with natural disasters, and how he determined his survival necessities. The sections were perfectly managed into easy to read instructions for the average reader. The author even reflected on different scenarios and outcomes of certain disasters, and how they can be avoided.

This book is a great find and perfect for contemporary households. Especially, if you are trying to get your new or even well-seasoned families into prepping for the unseen. As the world can be a dangerous place, this book definitely makes living in it a bit easier. Being prepared is a valuable commodity, and every household should heed signs that are clear indicators to coming problems. "Real World Survival" makes it as easy as flipping a few pages to get the information that you might need. Thank you Richard G Lowe Jr. for providing such great material!

The Princess Mermaid and the Missing Sea Shells by: Michael J. DiPinto BOOK REVIEW

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this fantastic book to my 14 month old daughter. Not only does it have interesting artwork to look at from page to page, but it also has a unique and engaging story-line. My daughter loved it and so did I! I can't wait to see what the next book will bring, because I'm sure there will be another one...

ABOUT THE BOOK:

The story of the Princess Mermaid is fun and a great way to teach children the morals of banding together for a good common goal. I for one, want my daughter to learn and retain positive ideas from any novel that she reads. Princess Mermaid is taken from her kingdom and her captors demand from her people their precious sea shells. Throughout the story, you find that a plethora of sea creatures band together under the idea of saving the Princess and brainstorm, carrying out different ways to attain her. This story is cute and educational and a great way to teach your small little ones the differences in sea animals, because the illustrations are amazing.

I will be recommending this book to my other mommy friends. I'd like to see more children's books of this magnitude and cannot wait for the second book to come out! Thank you Michael J DiPinto for sharing your work with us.
